Intelligence and its Relationship with Assertive Behavior and Achievement Motivation for Football Players

Abstract

Identify the variables of intelligence and assertive behavior and motivation of achievement and the relationship between them for football players in the province of Najaf. Study used the descriptive approach of survey manners and relational studies because they are suitable to the nature of the current study. Researcher selected research community from Al-Najaf clubs such (Najaf Club, Kufa Club, Nafet Middle Club) applicants for football for the sports season 2012-2013, the number of players is (90),(30) players for each club, the researcher chose simple of study randomly,(15) players from each club at a rate of 50%, research procedures did in the stadiums for the clubs that mentioned above for the period between 5/11/2012 -30/03/2013, the researcher used intelligence test for Khikane, assertive behavior scale in Sport for (Allawi), and achievement motivation measure for (Al-Khafaji), these three measures were applied on a group of players representing of research community to extract the conditions of scientific and make sure their psychometric characteristics and validity of current study, and then the final application on the subject of study is executed, the results show arranged in tables that viewing means, standard deviations, skewness coefficient, and coefficient of correlation to explain, researcher conclusions that players of Najaf club distinguished intelligently and assertive behavior and motivation of high achievement, also players of Najaf and Kufaclubs characterized withintelligence made them distinct in assertive
behavior and if their assertive behavior is being higher the achievement motivation will be increased, while synchronized increasing of intelligence of middle Nafet players with increasing both of assertive behavior achievement motivation
