Abstract

The research significance lies in the concern of competition and its relation with the achievement motivation and performance of some attacking skills by Babylon football players before starting Alfurat Alawsat universities ( the middle Euphrates ) championship in Iraq so as to investigate the obstacles which cause wasting efforts of players and coaches in the periods of preparation and , at the same time, coaches will be able to develop the performance level of their players. The research aimed to identify the concern of competition of Babylon university football players as well as identifying their achievement motivation , then, identifying the relation of concern of competition with the achievement motivation and performing of some offensive skills of football by Babylon university football players according to the lines of players .
The two researchers use the descriptive approach in terms of relations for its suitability of the research problem and objectives . The research sample consisted of Babylon university football players for the academic year (2016 -2017) ,preparing for Alfurat Alawsat universities ( the middle Euphrates ) championship in Iraq, totaling 21 players divided on the lines of playing ( defending , middle and attacking ) by 7 players for each line . After processing data and obtaining the results , the two researchers have concluded the following : Raising of concern of competition among Babylon university football players in general .There is a correlative relation between concern of competition and achievement motivation among Babylon university football players .There are significant differences in concern of competition and achiement motivation as well as performing of some offensive skills in football between among lines of playing for the favor of attacking line .
