Abstract
By the grace of Allah, it is a great pleasure to introduce this issue of: The International Journal on Islamic Applications in Computer Science and Technology
The success and the welcome of this Journal by researchers from many countries, gave us great encouragement for continuing issuing in the due time. This Journal is aimed at publishing original research papers in the field of Islamic Applications in computer science and technology. This field is catching a momentum in the recent years. As a Journal interested in this field, it is the first International Journal of its specific field. As research is growing in this field, we hope that this Journal will be a platform for researchers working in the field to publish their research.
This issue contains three papers. The first one is entitled: Towards a Joint Ontology of Quran and Hadith
Developing a computational tool to better understand and link Quran and the Hadith texts would be useful for Islamic scholars, learners, and laymen. There are several Quran ontologies and none of which were rigorously evaluated using a standard ontology evaluation method. For this reason, an experiment is started by enumerating and discussing the existing Quran ontologies. Then the best candidates of the enumerated ontologies are evaluated using a corpus-based approach to visualize the overlap between these ontologies and the Hadith. Our experiment shows that one Quran ontology could be used as a starting point for a larger scope of an Islamic ontology that covers both the Quran and Hadith.
The second paper is entitled: An intelligent approach for educational levels classification in social networks
In this work a relatively novel approach is proposed to the classification and identification of educational levels of the social network users through the texts. This work can be used for various social, political, cultural, religious, and economic purposes, as well as for security purposes to protect society from crime, violence and social ills. In this approach, the classification will depend on proposing new features as well as appropriate dictionaries for the language or the dialect considered (Arabic language - Algerian dialect) we used four of learning algorithms (SVM,DT,RF,NB). Accurate results and analytical framework will be provided in this paper .
reference, topic, location, living creation and event. Furthermore, an application is developed to run queries and perform different searches related to Quranic knowledge on this Ontology.
The third paper is entitled: Using International Quality Range Assessment (IQRA) as an Online Assessment in The Development of Insan Rabbani
Assessments of students are to support improvements in students learning, their results must inform students how to do better the next time; assessment for learning and not only assessment of learning. This paper seeks to address these concerns by describing the use of online assessment, in detailing out rich descriptions of student performance as related to the specified educational objectives. This is described in terms of students’ becomingness. It is organised as follow: (a) Human and Development (b) Insan Rabbani as Target of Human Development (c) Education in Human Development (d) Assessment in the Education process to be Insan Rabbani (e) ICT as enabler of IQRA (f) Conclusion
