You'll never guess what's hidden inside this old furniture factory

An old furniture factory converted into a magnificent modern apartment offers some of the most spectacular views in Melbourne from its private rooftop terrace.

The one-of-a-kind conversion, which is described as something 'you just don't find' in the trendy Windsor area, five kilometres south-east of the CBD, has a sprawling open-plan living room, a chef's kitchen, two spacious bedrooms and a roof deck that captures a 360 degree panorama of the city skyline.

The apartment is just steps from Chapel Street, one of Melbourne's busiest thoroughfares where designer boutiques are stacked cheek-by-jowl with speakeasies, cocktail bars and ethnic restaurants.

Historic features such as exposed rafters and original windows pay homage to the building's industrial roots, with contrast provided by contemporary additions like Baltic pine floorboards and folding French doors.

The ground floor is occupied by a bathroom and both bedrooms, the master complete with an ensuite and spacious walk-in wardrobe.

Upstairs, two matching Juliet balconies back onto an enormous living room and kitchen, where soaring ceilings hint at the building's warehouse past.

On the level above, a laundry and kitchenette open through double glass doors to the rooftop, which is the ideal place to entertain guests while enjoying breathtaking views.

Listing agent James McCormack, who is overseeing the sale of the conversion for realtor 암사한강아파트 Marshall White Stonnington, has set a guide price between $2million and $2.2million (AUD).

That's a whopping $1million higher than the average price of a two-bedroom in the area which was $1.08million in 2020, 암사한강아파트 according to CoreLogic records.

But Mr McCormack believes its uniqueness justifies the ask.

Listing agent James McCormack said the apartment has proved popular with buyers largely because it is so different to other premium properties in the surrounding area

The three-storey conversion is on the market with a guide price of $2million to $2.2million (AUD)

The property (pictured) has been described as something 'you just don't find' in the Windsor area

'It's the sort of property you see come along once in a decade,' he told 'The vendors are moving interstate, they love it, otherwise they wouldn't be selling...you just don't find this in Windsor.'

Mr McCormack said the apartment has proved popular with buyers largely because it is so different to other premium properties in the surrounding area, which tend to be townhouses or Victorian-era mansions converted into multiple luxury units.

The factory conversion is scheduled to be sold at auction on Saturday, March 27 at 12.30pm.
