Ngày 9/10, Ford Việt Nam giới thiệu phiên bản mới của mẫu crossover cỡ B. Với việc bỏ lốp dự phòng vốn gây nhiều tranh cãi, kích thước xe được thay đổi với chiều dài, rộng, cao lần lượt là 4.096 x 1,765 x 1,665 (mm) với chiều dài ngắn hơn phiên bản cũ gần 230 mm, nhưng chiều ngang lớn hơn 10 mm. Hãng cũng nói đến việc cải thiện khoảng sáng gầm xe thay vì 175 mm như bản cũ nhưng chưa đưa ra con số cụ thể. Vì bỏ lốp dự phòng, xe được trang bị thêm một bộ bơm lốp và dung dịch tự vá.
Cửa sổ trời, trang bị "có thì thừa, không thì thiếu" cũng được lược bỏ. Tính năng này thường ít được sử dụng, không quá thiết thực với xe cỡ B. Một số nâng cấp đáng chú ý khác là đèn pha xenon (HID) thay cho loại halogen đời trước.

Với một chiếc xe nhỏ, không gian cũng là điều khách hàng quan tâm, Ford bổ dung tổng cộng gần 20 hộc chứa đồ cho EcoSport và khi gập hàng ghế thứ hai xe tạo ra 1.414,5 lít không gian để đồ.

Các tính năng trên các bản cũng chưa có thông số cụ thể, nhưng dự kiến các trang bị trên hai bản Titanium sẽ giống nhau và bản Trend sẽ bị cắt màn hình, túi khí và một số tính năng liên quan đến tiện nghi.
Ở đời mới, xe chỉ còn ba phiên bản là 1.5 Trend, 1.5 Titanium và 1.0 Titanium. Như vậy hai phiên bản giá rẻ Ambient số sàn và tự động được lược bỏ. Cả ba xe mới đều lắp hộp số tự động 6 cấp. Máy 1.5 cho công suất 120 mã lực, mô-men xoắn cực đại 151 Nm. Máy 1.0 turbo EcoBoost 125 mã lực và 175 Nm.
