Indian Vehicles Best Suited as an Ambulance

by Ketua Redaksi Redaksi Ketua (2022-08-29)

In response to Tips mencari pekerjaan untuk fresh graduate

With COVID-19 still there in the world, we are in a continuous need for medical services. We appreciate all the doctors and the medical staff who are working hard for our well being. Along with all the medical staff and doctors, there are other people and machines who are also working 24×7 to make sure that people reach hospitals safely. These are the Ambulances and their drivers. We appreciate the hard work everyone is putting in to help fight us against the deadly virus. With the increasing necessity of beds, there is an equally increasing necessity of ambulances. Here are 10 Indian cars best suited as an Ambulance.

Maruti Suzuki Omni

One of the oldest vehicle in India’s ambulance fleet. Maruti Omni is the first on our list of Indian vehicles that are used as an ambulance. Although Maruti has discontinued the Ambulance edition of the Omni, you can get a used one from the market. Alternatively, you can also go for a normal passenger vehicle Maruti Omni and get it converted to an ambulance later on. Just to let you know, this vehicle is not safe at all and you can end up in the hospital too if you don’t drive it carefully.

Maruti Suzuki Eeco

Its 2020 and getting an Omni is pretty difficult. Why not go for a new-age sibling of the past legend? We are talking about the Maruti Eeco. Maruti Suzuki still develops special modified Maruti Eeco Ambulances. Many small hospitals and nursing homes have this MS as their first choice as an ambulance. Also, schools and educational institutes prefer Eeco too. But just like the Omni, this vehicle is also not safe and the driver should drive it with extreme care especially at high speeds.

Tata Winger

With the limited space availability in the two vehicles mentioned above, the medical facilities also remain limited. If you want to give more on-the-way support to the patient, Tata Winger can be a good option. This vehicle is not too big and at the same time, it is not too small! This can just be the perfect ambulance if you customise it properly. Many hospitals already have the older version of the Winger Ambulance but the new BS6 Tata Winger is also among the Indian cars that are perfect as an ambulance. The Winger can support patient transport, basic life support, advanced life support and shell functions.

Mahindra Bolero

The Indian automaker sells one of its best selling vehicles in the ambulance avatar too. The Mahindra Bolero Ambulance comes with a 2500cc engine and a seating capacity of 5 other than the patient who is considered to be lying on the stretcher. 3 attendants/family members can fit easily in the rear compartment along with the patient. Mahindra has also provided a stainless steel washbasin in case anyone needs to use it while on the way to the hospital.

Force Trax

This vehicle from Force Motors is also widely used as an ambulance in India. This is because Force Motors have done many modifications by themselves which make the Trax suitable for the Indian roads as an ambulance. Trax comes with a CED Dip Painting which guarantees rust protection and long life. The synchromesh gearbox ensures smooth and fast gear shifting during an emergency. The key feature of this ambulance vehicle is the autoloader stretcher mounted through special designed ramp which makes it easy for the staff to, load the stretcher inside it. medicine cabinet and oxygen cylinder brackets add up to the value of this ambulance.

Force Traveller

Due to its availability in multiple sizes, the Force Traveller can be called a complete hospital on wheels if bought in the full-sized equipped variant. The Traveller Ambulance is India’s 1st product with live tracking & live footage streaming for enhanced safety This helps the hospital to track the ambulance and make necessary arrangements accordingly in the hospital before the patient arrives. Also, the ducted AC and optional fitments like cardiac monitor and suction pump make it the most advanced ambulance on the Indian roads.

Mahindra Supro

Another one in the list of Indian vehicles as an Ambulance is the Mahindra Supro. Mahindra delivered the first batch of this newly launched ambulance vehicle to the Maharashtra Government for immediate use in treating Corona. The Mahindra Supro has made it into our list of Indian vehicles as an ambulance because it has all the necessary features like foldable stretcher cum trolley, medical kit box, provision for an oxygen cylinder, fire extinguisher along with internal lighting, flame-resistant interiors, and an announcement system. This makes it a perfect fit as an ambulance.

MG Hector

Morris Garages also tried their hand at ambulances. MG hector modified as an Ambulance was donated to the Gujarat government to help people and authorities fight the global pandemic which is still going on. MG modified a Hector with all the required ambulance facilities like autoloading stretcher, oxygen system with cylinder, jump seat for an attendant and many more. We hope MG turns this into a production model soon.

Toyota Innova

Although Toyota doesn’t produce the Innova as an ambulance, you can get it modified to form an ambulance that will be better than most of the vehicles listed above considering Toyota’s reliability and safety. The image you see above. is from Indonesia where Toyota donated 5 modified Innovas to the Red Cross society and the government to fight against the global pandemic outbreak. Toyota Indonesia did all the necessary modifications in the rear compartment to make the vehicle perfect as an ambulance.
