Estimation of Trace Elements levels in Blood of Children With Anemia Living at Al- kufa city
Abstract
This study aimed to determine Fe, Pb, Mn, and Zn, levels in the blood of children with anemia living at Al- Kufa city, as an indicator of environmental pollution in this city. Sixty five child (mean age 7.8 ±0.5) including 35 girls , 30 boys having anemia and age matched healthy child 29 girls ,28 boys ,were studied .The researcher observed that iron deficiency anemia (IDA) was obtained in 35 child (16 girls,19 boys), and only anemia (OA) in 30 child (15 girls ,15 boys). The results showed that there were significantly higher levels of Pb , Mn ,and Zn ,in the serum of children in (IDA) group( both girls and boys) compared with the control groups. The researcher conclude that the impatient child with blood iron deficient were more sensitive to the pollution than the healthy children.
Biologically, their bloods were an indicator of the amount of active metals which reflect the rang of interaction between the atmosphere pollution and the population.
