South India is referred as the land of several beautiful and charming hill stations.
Munnar, Ooty, Coorg, Wayanad and Kodaikanal are some of the top and famous hill stations situated in South India. These are most popular summer gateways in South India due to its pleasant weather. Blazing sun, scorching heat, humid climate and enormous sweating, Indian summer is just around the corner and is the time to escape the heat to the South India hill stations around.

Munnar


Munnar is a fascinating hill station located at the confluence of three mountain streams Mudra puzha, Nallathanni and Kundala in Kerala. Munnar is one of the most popular hill stations in South India and also regarded as one of the best honeymoon destinations in India.

This mesmerizing hill station is famous for its tea estates, exotic scenery and abundance of flora and fauna. Also known as Swiss of South India, Munnar was once the summer resort of the British Governors of South India and also one of most visited hill stations in Kerala.

Wayanad


Wayanad is a beautiful plateau situated at a height of 700 m - 2100 m above the sea level in the Western Ghats on the borders of Tamil Nadu and Karnataka States. It is one of the most popular places to visit in Kerala and also one of the top hill stations in South India. Wayanad is well-known for its rich tribal heritage, agricultural prosperity, lush green virgin forests, and hill ranges. The district of Wayanad is one of the biggest foreign exchange earners of the State, with its production of cash crops like pepper, cardamom, coffee, tea, spices and other condiments. Meenmutty Falls, Soochipara Falls, Pookote Lake, Banasura Sagar Dam, Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary, Brahmagiri, Chembra Peak, Lakkidi and Edakkal Caves are the must visit places of sightseeing in Wayanad.

Kodaikanal
Kodaikanal, often referred as the ‘Princess of Hill stations', is a beautiful hill resort situated on the southern tip of upper Palani hills in the South Indian state of Tamil Nadu. Kodaikanal is one of the best hill stations in South India and also one of the top places to experience Tamilnadu Tourism. Kodaikanal is not commercialized like Ooty and it offers a pleasant experience to tourists with relatively less crowd. Kodai Lake, Bryant Park, Coaker’s Walk, Bear Shola Falls, Silver Cascade and are the famous places to visit as part of Kodaikanal tour.

Ooty
Ooty or Udhagamandalam is one of the best hill stations in India. Often referred as ‘Queen of Hill Stations’, Ooty was served as the summer capital of the Madras during British Rule. , Avalanche Lake are the top tourist places to visit in Ooty.

The narrow gauge Nilgiri Mountain Railway that runs from Mettupalayam to Ooty is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a must be experienced.
